Dunford Presents Silver Star to Family of Fallen Marine, Speaks of Trust

Marine Corps Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr., chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, delivers remarks during the 100th Anniversary Mess Night of the 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, a battalion he commanded from 1996 to 1998, at the National Marine Corps Museum in Quantica, Va., July 7, 2017. During the event, Dunford posthumously awarded the Silver Star Medal to the family of Marine Cpl. Albert Gettings, who died of wounds sustained due to enemy small-arms fire while conducting combat operations in Fallujah, Iraq in 2006.
