WASHINGTON - Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. Patrick S. Ryder provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph F. Dunford, Jr., met with Chief of the Turkish General Staff General Hulusi Akar in Brussels, Belgium today.
The two leaders met while attending the Military Committee in Chiefs of Defence Session at NATO Headquarters. They discussed the current security environment in Syria and the Middle East in addition to other mutual items of interest.
The U.S. and Turkey enjoy a strong military-to-military relationship as key members of the NATO alliance.
