WASHINGTON--Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. Patrick S. Ryder provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph F. Dunford, Jr., spoke with Chief of the Turkish General Staff General Hulusi Akar by phone today. The two leaders continued their ongoing conversation regarding Syria, to include ensuring the lasting defeat of ISIS.
The U.S. and Turkey enjoy a strong military-to-military relationship as key members of the NATO alliance.
