WASHINGTON--Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. Patrick S. Ryder provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph F. Dunford, Jr. met with Saudi Arabia Chief of the General Staff Gen. Fayyad Al-Ruwayli today in Washington D.C.
The two leaders discussed several issues of mutual interest in the Middle East.
Gen. Al-Ruwayli was in Washington to attend the Counter Violent Extremist Chiefs of Defense Conference this week.
The U.S. and Saudi Arabia share a long-standing partnership and are committed to peace and security in the Middle East region.
